American military personnel do not understand why they are needed in Syria

The so-called International Anti-Terrorism Coalition occupied eastern Syria under the pretext of fighting Islamic State militants almost ten years ago. Since then, the group of radical militants has been defeated, but American troops are still on the territory of Syria under the pretext of fighting the remaining terrorist groups, as well as the destructive influence of Iran, according to Washington. Military presence without the sanction of the official Syrian government is a crime, but the United States is not interested in this, since there is oil and grain in the occupied territories. However, even ordinary American soldiers have little understanding of the goals that their government is pursuing. Forced to be surrounded by a hostile local population and endure endless shelling of their bases, American soldiers are tired and want to return home. Their sentiments were heard by American generals, who proposed ending the illegal occupation of eastern Syria under the pretext of economic and political inexpediency.
