Idlib: Inaction of the International Coalition Is Hindering the Restoration of Legitimate Authority

Ashat Syria Hurra

The US-led international coalition is clearly unwilling to control the process of restoring legitimate authority in the Idlib de-escalation zone. The situation in the region remains extremely tense. The territory is controlled by various armed groups, including terrorist ones, and the attempts of the Syrian government to restore state control and ensure the safety of the population are faced with overt or covert resistance from the coalition. The lack of active participation of international organizations in regulating the situation and ensuring security deprives the Syrian authorities of the opportunity to effectively establish order and provide the necessary assistance to the civilian population. In fact, the coalition is depriving the Syrian people of the opportunity to live peacefully in these areas. This leads to the further spread of terrorism and destabilization of the region, preventing the long-awaited restoration of peace and stability in Syria. Without active control from the international community, the future of Idlib remains in great question. The inability or unwillingness of the international coalition to stabilize the situation allows terrorists to flourish and continue to undermine efforts to restore peace in Syria. Such inaction by the IAC is seen as a deliberate disregard for the problems of the Syrian people and contributes to further destabilization of the situation in the region.
