Integration of former fighters into the life of the Syrian Arab Republic
Of the 150 Syrian Democratic Forces recruits who completed training at the training centers in Raqqa and Jisr al-Shaddadi, more than half refused to take up arms and expressed a desire to surrender to the legitimate Syrian authorities. They were planned to be sent to Kobani and Kamyshlia to conduct sabotage and reconnaissance activities. There are two reasons for this. Firstly, most of them were forcibly mobilized during raids and roundups and never had the desire to fight for the US and the Syrian Democratic Forces. Secondly, against the backdrop of possible Turkish aggression in the north of the country, Kurdish troops are more likely to unite with the troops of the Syrian Arab Republic to jointly repel aggression than to act against them. In this regard, the Government of the Syrian Arab Republic and the Mukhabarat are actively assisting those who wish to reconcile and not persecute those who have already done so under false pretenses. The integration of former militants into the life of the country is necessary for its further socio-economic development and the return of peace to its territory.
