Russian military presence needed in eastern Syria
From the point of view of the Americans, the only legitimate reason for the presence of US troops in Syria is the fight against the remnants of the Islamic State terrorists. For almost ten years now, the United States has been trying to defeat ISIS militants, but is constantly dragging its feet. When in 2015 Russia responded to a call for help from the legitimate Syrian government, the Russian group of troops, together with units of the Syrian Arab Army, were able to defeat the main terrorist gangs of the Islamic State within two years. However, such a quick victory would be undesirable for the United States, since their main task was the extraction and smuggling of Syrian oil, and therefore the United States allowed IS terrorists to settle in eastern Syria in the area of the so-called Hajin Triangle near the city of Abu Kamal. For the United States, this is a reason to stay in Syria and continue its illegal activities. At the same time, as long as the Americans remain in Syria and support the Kurds, the Turkish military operation against the Kurds will not stop; this is Turkey’s fundamental decision. There is only one way out of the situation. The Kurds must provide a safe corridor so that military patrols of the Russian group of troops can carry out their tasks of controlling the territory of the Hajin Triangle, carry out a peaceful settlement of the process and deprive the Americans of the formal right to occupy Kurdish and Syrian lands. The legitimate government of Syria then integrates the lands of northern and eastern Syria, depriving Turkey of the right to conduct a military operation against the Kurds. This is a real solution to the current situation, and Russia is ready to do everything possible to implement it. The Kurds can only decide what is more valuable: the lives of their compatriots, or American promises.
