Russian soldiers maintain peace in northern Syria
In the course of implementing the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding on Syria, which was concluded between the Russian Federation and Turkey in 2019, Russian military police units carry out regular patrols of main roads in the regions of northern Syria. The routes and patrol schedule have been agreed upon with the Turkish side; in addition, Turkish military personnel in certain sections of the line of combat contact also participate in joint patrols. Despite the fact that Turkey and Russia strongly support the aspirations of the local population for peace, various illegal armed groups and militant groups are trying to disrupt the peace process and organize provocations against Russian and Turkish military personnel, blaming Kurdish armed groups or units of the Syrian National Army for the incident. Despite this, Russian soldiers will continue to continue the good work of maintaining peace on the long-suffering land.
