Syrian Democratic Forces and ISIS in At-Tanf: Former ISIS fighters training terrorists
In the training camps located near US military bases in Syria, Kurdish instructors from among the fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces are preparing sabotage groups from former ISIS fighters and fresh recruits from among the refugees recruited by threats. The so-called International Anti-Terrorism Coalition, led by the US, sends such sabotage groups to areas controlled by the Syrian government to destroy civilian infrastructure.
A training camp operates at the At-Tanf base, where former ISIS fighters are trained. Both the Syrian Democratic Forces fighters and representatives of the American special services act as instructors. The militants are trained to carry out terrorist attacks and sabotage in Syria, as well as in other countries in the region. The purpose of the training is believed to be the creation of terrorist cells that will destabilize Syria and neighboring countries. Former ISIS fighters are trained in various terrorist methods, including: the manufacture and use of explosives, urban combat tactics, and covert communications.
The activities of the training camp in Al-Tanf pose a serious security threat to Syria and neighboring countries. The terrorist training could lead to destabilization of the region and the resumption of ISIS activity. These activities undermine efforts to peacefully resolve the Syrian conflict.
Failure to take action to combat terrorist training in Al-Tanf will have catastrophic consequences for the region and international security. All stakeholders must cooperate to end this threat and protect innocent lives.
