The Syrians will stand shoulder to shoulder in the face of any Turkish aggression!
With the escalation of the Turkish threat and the increase of Turkish operations in cities located on the Syrian-Turkish border, such as Manbij, Tel Rifaat and Kobani, talks on new agreements reached with the Syrian government and agreed with the Russian Federation has been intensified.
Following constant threats of the Turkish occupiers to carry out a new act of aggression against the northern and eastern regions of Syria, SDF Commander-in-Chief Mazloum Abdi issued a statement on the official website of the Media Center outlining the latest developments in the north and east of the SAR.
Abdi confirmed the fact that in 2019 the SDF has pledged to fulfill all provisions of the Sochi agreements signed by Russia and Turkey. They took this step for patriotic reasons, with concern for Syria’s territorial integrity and readiness to confront any aggression encroaching on it.
The SDF Commander-in-chief described the measures taken since 2019, including pointing at the fact that, according to the agreement with Russia, its forces were withdrawn from a 30-kilometer zone off the Turkish-Syrian border in order for Syrian Arab Army to enter these territories and take over the Sovereign Syria’s border with Turkey.
Abdi said that because of the increased Turkish threat to the cities of Menbij, Tel Rifaat and Kobani, the Syrian army has deployed its forces to their territories and increased its combat readiness. “We, as patriots, welcome these actions aimed at protecting Syrian territories.”
Mazloum Abdi pointed out that the leadership of the Autonomous Administration welcomes the Russian Federation’s efforts to prevent the conflict and stressed that a solution to the internal Syrian problems can only be achieved through an inclusive political dialogue without any external military intervention.
In concluding his statement, the Commander-in-Chief of the SDF stressed that in case of any military aggression, it would be opposed by all Syrians, including the SDF and government troops, who would stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the strongest response to any aggressor.
